Program Note:
Commissioned in 2010 by the Amstel and New Century Saxophone Quartets, MAY and JUNE are played together with JULY (1995). The outer movements are energetic and fast, separated by a more reflective center movement. Each of the three were composed from rhythmic ideas, first, followed by imposed harmonic limitations, out of which came the melodic ideas.
